14th Midwest International Economic Development Conference

The Midwest International Economic Development Conference will present papers and organized sessions on all topics in economic development. Each presenter will have a 30 minute presentation slot, which will include a 5 minute commentary by an assigned discussant. Sessions will begin at 8 am on April 21 and end at lunch on April 22. No more than three sessions will be held at the same time.

Keynote Speaker: Pascaline Dupas

Pascaline Dupas is Associate Professor in the Economics Department at Stanford University, a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a co-editor at the Journal of Development Economics. Her primary research focus is on the barriers to human capital accumulation in developing countries. Prior to joining the Stanford faculty, she taught at Dartmouth College and UCLA. She received a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris, France) in 2006.
